The 14th International Symposium «Ecology of Aphidophaga »

Dear colleagues,

The 14th International Symposium « Ecology of Aphidophaga » will be held at University of Quebec at Montreal (Université du Québec à Montréal, UQAM) located in downtown Montreal (Quebec, Canada) from 16 to 20 September 2019.
It will be 20 years since the last Aphidophaga took place in the province of Quebec in Canada and we are grateful to the Scientific Committee of Aphidophaga and the International Organization of Biological Control (IOBC) for choosing Montreal as the venue for the 14th Symposium. We are also grateful to the IOBC for supporting the meeting. All symposium information will be provided in both English and French, Canada’s two official languages.

Organizing committee

Local organizing committee is composed of Eric Lucas (professor, UQAM), Geneviève Labrie (researcher, OBV Yamaska), Annie-Ève Gagnon (research scientist, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada), Daniel Cormier (research scientist, IRDA), Olivier Aubry (lecturer, UQAM) and Julie-Eleonore Maisonhaute (lecturer, Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières).
Professor J.P. Michaud (Kansas State University, USA), Chair of Working Group “Ecology of Aphidophaga”.

Symposium themes

The purpose of Aphidophaga is to provide an international forum for the presentation and discussion of research on organisms contributing to the mortality of aphids (Hemiptera: Aphididae). Aphidophagous organisms include predators, parasitoids and pathogens of aphids. Acceptable topics include the following:

• Systematics and Phylogeny
• Morphology and Physiology
• Chemical ecology
• Behaviour
• Voltinism and diapause
• Seasonal adaptation
• Climatic changes
• Distribution in habitats
• Population dynamics
• Modelling
• Food relationships
• Impact of aphidophaga on aphid populations
• Integrated Pest Management
• Aphidophaga natural enemies
• Intraguild interactions
• Tritrophic interactions
• Invasive aphidophaga

The Symposium program will include invited plenary lectures (45 min), submitted oral presentations (15 min) and concurrent poster sessions. All submissions should be accompanied by an abstract and are subject to approval by the convenors. An abstract book of all contributions will be distributed to all registered participants. Only the abstracts of registered participants will be printed in the book. Proposals for organized symposia on special topics will be considered upon request.
